Our story
SimplyPedsNeuro started with a simple observation: when a parent sees something frightening, a staring spell, a new tic, headaches that keep coming back, the internet swings between "totally normal" and "rare and serious," and almost nothing is written for the person actually lying awake at 2 a.m. Dr. Shawn Sedgh, MD built this practice to close that gap. He completed residency training in pediatrics (3 years) and neurology (3 years), which means he understands a child's developing brain and nervous system from birth through age 18, and he writes every explanation here for parents, not clinicians.
What makes us different is how we explain. Every sign we describe comes with its age band, because a staring spell at age 2 can mean something very different than the same spell at age 12, and parents deserve to know that. We tell you honestly how worried to be, including what we can't be sure about without an exam, and what to do next, whether that's watching and waiting, calling your pediatrician, or seeing a neurologist. You'll also notice we don't publish medication doses on our patient pages. Those decisions belong in a real conversation about your child, not on a website.
When you're ready, a visit request from this site goes directly to Dr. Shawn Sedgh, MD, serving families across greater Los Angeles. We don't publish a practice address or phone number until he confirms them personally, because from the first explanation you read to the first appointment you book, this practice is built on one idea: parents should always know exactly who is guiding them, and what comes next.
